BELL COUNTY, Texas — Bell County has launched a new program designed to give residents more options when they call 911 with non-emergency situations.

The county is partnering with RightSite, a telehealth service that connects callers with board-certified emergency room doctors and social care navigators via phone or video call. The program, which went live on Oct. 20, is aimed at managing the growing number of non-emergency calls that come through the 911 system.

How It Works

When a resident calls 911, dispatchers will assess the situation using their standard protocols. If the call is determined to be non-emergent or low acuity, the caller may be offered the option to connect with a RightSite healthcare provider.
