TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Trump Administration is taking a look at all the refugees admitted during the Biden years who say they weren’t properly vetted.

Refugee programs like Iskashitaa get hundreds of refugees every year. They say this move by the Trump Administration is a waste of taxpayer dollars.

“Resettled refugees are invited here,” Iskashitaa Refugee Network Development Director Amelia Natoli said. “They have a very clear path to citizenship.”

Refugees are different than the 5.8 million asylum seekers who entered the border during the Biden Administration. Their screening process is much more thorough.

“Six U.S. agencies do security checks and background clearances for years before refugees are invited to arrive in the U.S.,” Natoli said.
