TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - About six weeks ago, the City of Tucson partnered with The Primavera Foundation to open STAR Village, the city’s first outdoor safe sleeping site.
The project has been a point of contention among community members since it was announced in August, but The Primavera Foundation insists it’s a positive step toward solving homelessness.
More than 40 individuals have come through STAR Village in the first six weeks since it opened its doors to women experiencing homelessness, but not all of those 40 cases have been success stories.
“We can’t meet everybody’s needs at the Village,” said Tisha Tallman, the CEO of The Primavera Foundation. “It does have limited ability to take on every possible person.”
STAR Village holds up to 25 women at a time and right now, there
