A former Pettis County sheriff’s deputy has been accused of posting a video depicting child sexual abuse to a private Snapchat story.
Jordan Schutte of Sedalia was charged Friday with possession of child pornography and promoting child pornography in connection to the allegation.
According to a probable cause statement written by a Sedalia police officer, the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip about a Snapchat post made on June 16.
Investigators identified the Snapchat account that posted the video as Schutte's through his phone number, which matched the number linked to his Snapchat account and the contact information he had provided at his workplace, according to the probable cause statement.
