SAVANNAH, Ga. (WKYT) - After falling behind 2-0, Kentucky reverse sweeps Texas to capture the SEC Tournament Championship, beating the Longhorns 3-2.
Kentucky is the first SEC Tournament champion in 20 years since the last tournament in 2005. This is also Kentucky’s 6th all-time SEC Tournament Title and first since 1988.
Molly Tuozzo earned Tournament MVP.
A whopping four Wildcats finished in double digit kills. Eva Hudson led the way with 23 kills and 11 digs. Lizzie Carr had 13 kills. Brooklyn Deleye had 13 kills and 16 digs and Asia Thigpin had a huge contribution with 10 kills.
Kentucky had a slow start to the first set, like they’ve been prone to do, with the Longhorns jumping to a 9-4 lead before UK called its first timeout. UT would keep the attack going after the stop in break
