CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- A dominant start and a late rally propelled the top-seeded UNI Panthers to a fourth consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship. UNI swept rival Drake (25-14, 25-23, 25-23) to keep the crown while earning their 58th straight match victory against conference opponents.
The night started out with a bang for the Panthers who opened scoring the first five points of the match, and rarely slowed down in a 25-14 win, followed by a back-and-forth 25-23 victory in the second.
It was the third, however, that saw them gut it out despite a slow start. After trailing 20-15, UNI hit a big stretch, taking seven of the next nine points, and tying the match 22-22 on a Cassidy Hartman kill. Minutes later, Drake's attack went wide on match point, as UNI celebrated a
