HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - University of Hawaii place kicker Kansei Matsuzawa is adding another accolade to his impressive 2025 season.
The Tokyo Toe was named one of the three finalists for the Lou Groza Award on Tuesday.
The award is presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate place kicker.
Matsuzawa leads the FBS with 23 made field goals, a perfect mark in attempts and has the longest made streak in college football.
“I think I said every time, but this is not just me, this is all like a team success, you know, without my teammates, coaches, especially like field goal unit, I couldn’t have done this by myself,” Matsuzawa said. “So I appreciate my teammates and coaches and fans, you know, all the people like who supported Hawaii.”
