The Carolina Panthers entered Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers with an opportunity to take the NFC South lead. Instead, they laid an egg in a 20-9 snoozefest .

Now the Panthers are back to the drawing board after a blown opportunity to a team that gave them multiple chances to hang around, including three interceptions from the defense. Even with the ball at the 16-yard-line following one of those picks, quarterback Bryce Young gave it right back to the 49ers with one of his own four plays later.

This was a time for Young to prove himself on a big stage, but it ended with another disappointing loss with a lackluster performance, something former player and current NFL analyst Marcus Spears expressed his frustration with during Tuesday's edition of "NFL Live."
