Two best friends on a night out in Middlesbrough "were drinking to excess and didn't want the fun to end", a court has heard. Kyle Clark was out celebrating the removal of his electronic tag which was fitted as part of his licence conditions, on his release from prison.

The 22-year-old was sentenced to 26-months in August 2024, after he ploughed into two people in his car on Middlesbrough's Borough Road . Clark was drunk behind the wheel and his female victim was left pinned between his car and a wall.

She suffered a fractured pelvis and dislocated hips - and underwent emergency surgery. Clark, who worked full time as a scaffolder before being sent to prison, fled the scene.

On Tuesday, Teesside Crown Court has heard that Clark was out with his best pal and other friends on Friday,
