Murray State and George Washington University provided a thrilling final scene for Tuesday night's Cayman Islands Classic with a frantic 96-95 Racer win.
Trey Autry had appeared to save the day for the Revolutionaries, first tying the game on an acrobatic 3-pointer with 45 seconds remaining and then pushing GW in front on a layup with 6.1 seconds remaining.
But Murray State had the answer after a timeout as Javon Jackson caught the inbounds and raced all the way up the sideline uncontested before finishing through contact to put the Racers in front with 1.2 left. A missed free throw and ensuing scramble ended the game.
It was a tight contest all night, with the Racers claiming a 45-43 lead at halftime. The lead changed hands 17 times during the contest.
Jackson finished with 24 points
