MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Police arrested a South Euclid woman, 29, at Target Nov. 15 after loss prevention reported that she was in the store and was a known shoplifter.
Her vehicle, found parked illegally in a handicap spot, was searched due to officers seeing an open bottle of cognac while they were speaking with two other occupants who had waited in the vehicle.
There were dozens of purchase and return receipts in the car, mainly from Target and Meijer stores throughout Ohio and Michigan.
There also were fraudulent paper IDs inside the woman’s purse that officers suspected she had used to make fraudulent returns of stolen merchandise, which primarily included lotions, oils and creams.
The woman was charged with forgery, theft by deception and possession of criminal tools.
