A woman who battled a rare form of cancer and had her life saved by blood taken from the umbilical cord of a baby born in Spain more than a decade earlier says she has "peace of mind" that her diagnosis "has also helped other people". Lyra Cassell, 20, from Allerton , received the extraordinary transplant aged 16 after being diagnosed with precursor T-cell lymphoblastic leukaemia cancer.
