A man has been taken to hospital with "serious" injuries after a reported hit and run incident in Warrington on Tuesday. At around 5.45pm on Tuesday, November 25, Cheshire Police were called to reports of a collision on Westbrook Way, Burtonwood, near to Asda superstore.

Police attended the scene and found a pedestrian had been hit by a silver BMW, which was then said to have fled the scene. The pedestrian, a 45-year-old man from Warrington , suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aintree Hospital, where he remains at this time.

A 50-year-old man from Penketh has now been arrested in relation to the incident. He is currently being held in police custody on suspicion of failing to stop following a coll
