Happy Thanksgiving, Bloomington. Thanksgiving and the (if you’re lucky) long weekend that surrounds it is not only a time to celebrate friends and family, but to practice gratitude for blessings and the communities that foster them.
This weekend, between your inevitable frenzy to make side dishes and eagerly watch the IU-Purdue game, there’s plenty going on around town to celebrate and be grateful for. From a tribute concert to legendary Bloomington musician Janis Stockhouse , to a dedicated “townie” trivia night, to the square’s iconic “Canopy of Lights” ceremony , there’s plenty of reasons to celebrate all Bloomington has to offer. And since we’re not sure when your weekend starts, we’ve compiled events starting as soon as Wednesday night, with a few more events than usual.
