KENT – While millions will enjoy New York City’s famous Thanksgiving Day Parade, 48 hours before, first-graders at the Kent Primary School brought the magic of the season to life with a pint-sized version of the world-renowned Big Apple event.

The six-year-old boys and girls read ‘Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy’s Parade’ by Melissa Sweet prior to viewing a video that demonstrated how Macy’s designs its massive balloons and features a new balloon every year.

The children then cut out and colored animal shapes which were attached to their own balloons for a parade around the school grounds to the delight of family members and school staff.
