A UK theatre has bowed to pressure from animal rights activists to ban pork from its menu during a festive run of children's show The Three Little Pigs. Chichester Festival Theatre said it would remove "all pig's flesh items from the menu at its Minerva bar" between December 6 and December 28 following pressure from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group (PETA), Sussex World reports.
A spokesperson for the campaign organisation said it would be "weird to encourage children to cheer the pigs as they escape being eaten by the wolf in your theatre and then invite them to stuff their mouths with pig flesh in your restaurant" in a letter to the theatre's executive director in February.
