Richard Branson has opened up about his wife's death, revealing she died "quickly and painlessly" in hospital. The 75-year-old Virgin boss announced on Tuesday that his wife, Joan Templemanm, had passed away.

In a new heartbreaking Instagram post, Richard explained how he is spending time with their two children, Holly, 44, and Sam, 40, as they grieve the loss of Joan.

He began: "Holly, Sam and I are all together now, doing our best to smile through the tears and to focus on all the good things Joan brought into our world. There are so many."

Richard revealed that Joan was in hospital recovering from a back injury at the time of her death.
