The girl adored Santa, always wanted to see Santa, wrote Santa letters and watched videos of him reading them on her mom's smartphone with childlike innocence and wide-eyed glee.
But she wasn't a child, and it wasn't very merry. The little girl was in the innocent mind of a 20-year-old woman with autism, and Mom and Dad were weary of tiptoeing around the reality of Santa Claus, the way moms and dads do.
