An elderly coupled died in a fire this week that was allegedly intentionally set by their son at their home in North Adams, Massachusetts.
The Berkshire District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday that 44-year-old Darius Hazard was taken into custody Monday afternoon following the fire at 77 Francis Street that led to the deaths of Venture Hazard, 76, and Donald Hazard, 83.

Darius Hazard admitted to police that he physically assaulted his parents inside their home in the early morning hours of Monday, and then poured gasoline on the first floor and set the house ablaze between 3 and 4 a.m., according to the district attorney's office.
