OTTAWA COUNTY, MI -- Ottawa County leaders will not pursue an ethics complaint against Commissioner Joe Moss over allegations he provided misleading information that led to significant severances for a former county executive.
Commissioners on Tuesday, Nov. 25 voted against forming a special committee to investigate the complaint. Most said they saw no benefit in spending resources on the effort.
“It is time to move on from the errors of the past board, including Commissioner Moss,” Board of Commissioners Chair John Teeples said.
“We have nothing more to learn or gain,” Teeples said.
He said the board should focus on issues important to the public, like solving the county’s groundwater shortages, as well as housing and transportation issues.
