PENDER COUNTY, N.C. —

Pender County Parks and Recreation Department has banned e-bikes, e-skateboards, and e-scooters at all county-owned and maintained parks.

Officials say the move is due to ongoing facility damage and growing safety concerns.

The restriction does not apply to electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or other ADA mobility devices.

These remain fully permitted.

This restriction applies to all recreation amenities within our park system, including but not limited to:

Trails

Athletic fields

Playgrounds

Courts

Picnic shelters

Restrooms

Batting cages

Other park amenities

The policy also includes the Penderland Greenway and the Sloop Point Loop Road Multi-U
