Dashcam footage showing Paul Doyle becoming "increasingly agitated" may have led him to change his plea as he was set to face trial over allegations of intentionally injuring Liverpool FC fans celebrating the club's Premier League victory.

Doyle, 54, formerly of Burghill Road, West Derby, was scheduled to stand trial at Liverpool Crown Court concerning an incident on Water Street in Liverpool on Monday, 26 May this year. Over 100 adults and children were injured when his Ford Galaxy ploughed into a crowd of pedestrians.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to 31 charges following the incident but altered his plea today. Prosecutors stated that car dashcam footage showed him becoming agitated as he neared Dale Street and Water Street.
