A police officer from North Andover, who authorities say pointed a gun at a colleague while being served a restraining order, has a trial date.
Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 29, is set for trial on Feb. 9 in Essex County Superior Court. Officials say an “armed confrontation” took place on June 30 when police officers from her department served her a restraining order obtained by her fiancé.
Fitzsimmons denies pointing a gun at the officer who shot her in the chest, as officials have said. She claims she attempted suicide and says postpartum depression affected her mental health.
She pleaded not guilty to a single count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
