Two families stood before Circuit Judge John A. Hallacy on Tuesday, Nov. 25, each ready for the official addition of one more member into their family.
The adoptions of 17-year-old Keaton Caraway of Colon and 1-year-old Onnaleia Kuhn of Battle Creek by their respective families were finalized in front of loved ones gathered in the courtroom. Their adoptions were part of a larger movement honored across the state for Michigan Adoption Day.
Michigan Adoption Day is observed annually during National Adoption Month, and has become a tradition to support adoption and foster care in local communities. In courtrooms around Michigan, loved ones came together to celebrate this year’s theme of “Giving Thanks For Families”.
