A man accused of going on a stealing spree spanning a year and targeting several stores in South Florida was arrested on Friday.
Lazaro Maury Cabrera-Calero, 36, was charged with third-degree grand theft and retail theft/prior conviction.
Cabrera-Calero was previously arrested in connection to a string of meat thefts in West Miami in 2022.
According to authorities, from August 2024 to September 2025, Cabrera-Calero was identified as a suspect who allegedly committed 25 thefts at several TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores.
An arrest report said that on Aug. 22, 2024, Cabrera-Calero went to a Marshalls in Miami, picked out a suitcase and started to put shoes worth different prices into the suitcase. He then left the store without paying, with the items adding up to $909.83.
