Television doctor and NHS GP Dr Amir Khan has revealed health advice he thinks everyone over 35 should be following. The medical expert, a regular on programmes including Lorraine and GMB, frequently shares health guidance on Instagram when he's not working in his surgery or appearing on screen.

On Wednesday, November 27, Dr Amir posted: "There's so much online as to what we can all be doing to stay healthy as we age. Here are 5 that are science backed. Hope it's useful x".

His first recommendation is to "get in morning light" as beyond 35 "your circadian rhythm becomes a little less responsive". According to Dr Amir, just five minutes of natural light "hits the light receptors in the back of your eyes and sends signals to your brain's master clock".
