The day after Thanksgiving is famous for shopping deals, but for septic service companies, it’s known for something far less glamorous: Brown Friday.
“It’s similar to Black Friday,” said Chuck Mylan, a technician with HALL’S, a septic service company. “But in the septic industry, we see it as an influx in calls for emergency service and pump-outs of houses.”
With households hosting large gatherings and kitchens working overtime, the Friday after Thanksgiving often becomes the busiest day of the year for septic and plumbing professionals. And according to Mylan, many of these emergencies are preventable.
