BROOKLYN, Ohio -- A key part of Brooklyn’s 2026 capital plan includes updating a busy entrance to the city.

Budgeted at $475,000, the plan is to reenvision the I-480 and Tiedeman Road bridge with the design and construction of new fencing, LED lighting and parapet.

“The I-480/Tiedeman Road bridge enhancement is the final piece to the upgrades the city has been doing at that city entrance,” Brooklyn Mayor Ron Van Kirk said.

The city previously removed a large section of a median, located on the north side of the I-480 westbound exit ramp traffic light, to allow more cars to stack when heading eastbound on the highway.

“Upgrading and enhancing our city entrances is a big part of the current master plan, and this improvement will complete that area’s upgrade,” he said.
