Calls for the superintendent of the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District to resign are growing louder in the wake of recent job cuts.

Parents and students are upset that Jeffrey Szymaniak was a no show at Tuesday night's school committee meeting.

'It is time. If you cannot stand here and listen to what your community and our students say, you need to resign," parent Jennifer Roback said Tuesday night.

Parents continue to express outrage over recent teacher and staff layoffs, noting that no school administrative positions were cut. Two dozen teachers and other workers were let go on Nov. 21 due to a budget shortfall of almost $1.4 million.
