In today's Autumn Budget, Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced a crackdown on benefits fraud, which the Labour Party government hopes will raise £1.2 billion by March 2013.

The Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) will investigate fraudulent and mistaken Universal Credit payments via the Targeted Case Review (TCR) scheme.

On the DWP website, they state: "Targeted Case Review (TCR) was established in 2022 to identify and address incorrectness across Universal Credit (UC) claims, providing vital insight on new and emerging ways to identify fraud and error entering the social security system.
