Extending Ezri Konsa’s contract is not currently on Aston Villa’s agenda, with Unai Emery insisting that the defender’s existing deal is sufficient for now.
Konsa’s current contract runs until 2028, meaning he will have two years remaining next summer.
Fresh terms have been handed out to the likes of Tyrone Mings , Boubacar Kamara, Lucas Digne, Matty Cash and John McGinn since the end of last season, but those extensions were prompted by the limited time left on their previous deals.
Morgan Rogers, meanwhile, signed an extension earlier this month despite already being contracted until 2030. His new deal adds a further 12 months and includes a pay rise to reflect his growing importance to the team.
