WASHINGTON (WBTV) - Two turkeys from North Carolina are safe from Thanksgiving feasts.
President Donald Trump pardoned the birds on Tuesday, Nov. 25, during an annual White House Thanksgiving tradition.

The turkeys, Gobble and Waddle, come from Wayne County, just southeast of Raleigh. Only Gobble was on hand for the official presidential pardon.
“Let’s go and give Gobble and Waddle the gift they’ve been waiting for,” Trump said. “You are hereby unconditionally pardoned.”
Travis Pittman, the farmer who raised Gobble and Waddle, said the turkeys were chosen largely because of their personalities and their ease around people.
