Manchester Pride WILL return next year, council bosses have confirmed. And after the financial problems which saw the organisers go into voluntary liquidation , the 2026 event will see a return to its ‘home-made’ roots.

Town hall chiefs today approved plans to ‘work with the LGBTQ+ community in a transparent process to co-create a new pride festival’, Ethan Davies reports . “We [Manchester council] will not be running Pride,” said Coun Pat Karney, a veteran Mancunian LGBTQ+ campaigner for decades.
