The United Way Oxford is again doing its own spin on the classic English Christmas carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas.

But instead of a partridge in a pear tree, a collection of laying geese or sevens swans a-swimming, the charity’s 12 Days of Giving will mean a better future for some of Oxford County’s most vulnerable residents.

The idea behind the campaign is a simple one: Community members are encouraged to show their “Local Love” by embracing the United Way’s recommendations of 12 ways to give back to Oxford County and directly support those in needed.

“Each day has its own activity so people can mix and match how they want to support the community over 12 days,” said Amanda Kreiger, the United Way Oxford’s resource development manager.
