A 44-year-old Norfolk County resident has been charged with public intoxication after an incident in Simcoe.
On Nov. 21 at about 11:45 p.m., a Norfolk OPP officer was on patrol in the area of Norfolk Street South and Peel Street when someone drew their attention. After speaking with the person, the officer took them into custody.
Police remind community members that under the Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019, it is illegal to be intoxicated in public places where the general public is invited or allowed access, or in any shared areas of residences with multiple dwellings.
Police called to break-and-enter in progress, lay charge
On Nov. 22 at about 4 p.m., the Norfolk OPP officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress on Orchard Avenue in Simcoe.
