The Cape Fear region will go cold turkey this weekend.

A strong, stinging surge of Arctic air will send temperatures tumbling through the Carolinas this Thanksgiving, pushing weekend lows in Fayetteville into the mid-20s. Dew points in the teens and a brisk north wind will make things feel even colder.

Temperatures will recover to normal by Sunday, with a chance of showers early next week.
