CAIRO, N.Y. — Two town residents were charged with second-degree murder on Wednesday in connection with the death of a family member who they had reported missing, police said.
On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Cairo police began an investigation into the alleged disappearance of Roger Pitt, 69, of Cairo, after family members reported him missing on Nov. 18. Family members told police he had “gathered his belongings and left the area in his 1987 Mercedes Benz,” according to a Greene County Sheriff’s Office press release. Roger Pitt’s remains were found on the property, police said.
