KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt invited FBI Director Kash Patel to visit Kansas City in hopes of creating strategies to reduce crime in the region.

It comes after Patel and Schmitt made a trip to St. Louis earlier this month. The stop highlighted the number of full-time agents added to the FBI’s St. Louis field office. Schmitt also said the hirings have the office at its highest number of employees in years.

“The FBI’s permanent infusion of full-time agents and intelligence personnel to the St. Louis Field Office, one of the largest per-capita increases in the nation, will be instrumental in promoting law and order in the area,” Schmitt wrote in a letter to Patel.

He went on to write that St. Louis is already seeing violent crime drop in the city.
