DULUTH — Bentleyville, Duluth's most visible holiday attraction, announced it would be closed Wednesday night after suffering "significant damage" in a snowstorm that rocked the Northland with winds and heavy precipitation.

"For the safety of our guests, volunteers, and staff, the site will remain closed while crews work to assess and repair the impacted areas," wrote the attraction in a statement posted to social media late Wednesday morning.

Nathan Bentley, the attraction's founder and executive director, was not immediately available to comment on the damage. Photos posted to social media showed elements of the seasonal lights display blown over or broken.
