LONG BEACH – The day after a teen was stabbed during an argument near a Long Beach, a shooting was reported near another City park late Monday night.

Police are continuing their investigation of a shooting near Houghton Park that occurred after a traffic accident.

Long Beach Police Department officers responded at approximately 11:20 p.m. Monday to the 6300 block of Myrtle Avenue and East 63rd Street regarding a shooting.

When they arrived at the scene, they learned a male victim and a male suspect were involved in a minor traffic collision, which led to an argument, police said.

One of the men began to drive away when the second followed and fired multiple shots at him, hitting the victim’s vehicle, according to the department.
