NORWALK – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision this morning on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Norwalk.

The crash, which also involved a big rig, was reported at about 9 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound side of the freeway at Firestone Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Only two northbound lanes were open two hours after the crash and traffic was backed up to Alondra Boulevard, according to reports from the scene.

The rider died at the scene, a CHP officer said.
