Following today's budget announcement, a little-known element has been snuck in. Following calls made by the Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis, the government is making moves to rein in mobile companies' price increases.
Martin Lewis had issued a call to Ofcom to strengthen its regulations regarding broadband and mobile price increases following last month's announcement of fresh hikes for O2's 15.6 million customers.
O2 had announced monthly bill rises of £2.50 from April 2026 - an increase from the initially planned £1.80 monthly rise.
