WESTBROOK, Maine (WABI) -The Maine Credit Union League says it has surpassed its fundraising goal in the fight against food insecurity.

Maine Credit Unions across the state raised a record $238,000 for their Ending Hunger Challenge, which took place last month.

Their goal was $100,000.

$36,000 of the funds raised will go to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

This was the 35th year for the Maine Credit Unions Campaign for Ending Hunger.
