Dozens of homes near Wellington in Telford were left without power on Wednesday after a fault on the power lines.
National Grid said 176 homes were off supply at around 2.30pm on Wednesday (November 26).
The organisation said the incident was due to "a fault on the high voltage power lines".
Homes in and around the village of Wrockwardine, west of Wellington, were impacted by the cut.
An update at 4pm said: "We're working to restore power. We became aware of this powercut at 2.25pm this afternoon and immediately began work to restore supply.
"We understand how disruptive this is and sincerely apologise for the impact on your day.
"Our engineers are working to get power back on as quickly as possible".
