BISMARCK — The longest-serving judge who currently sits on the North Dakota Supreme Court will retire next year, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office.
Justice Daniel Crothers announced Wednesday, Nov. 26, that he would step down from the post on Feb. 28, Gov. Kelly Armstrong said in a news release. Crothers has served on the state Supreme Court for 20 years.
“It’s been a tremendous honor,” Crothers told The Forum. "Everybody wants to do meaningful work in their life, and I think this is a position where you can say you are doing meaningful work every day."
The Fargo native was born in 1957. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1979, where he studied political science, journalism and early American history, according to his biography. Crothers earned his
