A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the victims of a pedestrian accident in Calgary’s northwest that trapped two sisters underneath a vehicle.
Camilla, 10, and Alejandra, 18, were rushed to the hospital on Nov. 20 after being struck by, and subsequently trapped underneath, a vehicle. Alejandra had been walking Camilla to school in the northwest community of Dalhousie, and the two were crossing the street in a marked school zone crosswalk when they were hit. The sisters remained trapped under the vehicle until Calgary fire crews arrived.
Both girls are still recovering in hospital — Alejandra at Foothills and Camilla at the Children’s Hospital — but are currently stable.
“They’re going to have to do a lot of rehabilitation, a lot of therapy, to be able to get movement back,” said R
