FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Saint Francis football Is advancing to face top-seeded Grand View in the championship tournament.
Saint Francis football defeated Evangel 13-12 in a defensive battle last Saturday, keeping their championship dreams alive. First-year head coach Adam Sherman said the defense was key to the closely contested victory.
“Our defense was phenomenal. To host a playoff game and win it... everything we do now is gravy,” Sherman said.
The Cougars advance to play the number one team in the championship series, Grand View University. Sherman said he knows this weekend won’t be easy.
“We gotta slay giants all the time,” Sherman said, noting the Vikings finishing their regular season 14-0 with a perfect conference record.
