Huntsville Police say the holiday season brings more shopping, traveling, and more home package deliveries, which means more chances for thieves to capitalize.
“While our department is increasing patrols citywide, we also need the community to help prevent these crimes,” HPD Chief Kirk Giles said. “When people trust their instincts and look out for one another, it makes a real difference.”
Police encourage people to "Lock, Secure, Protect" by following these tips:
Lock your vehicle every time.
Secure valuables by removing them or keeping them out of sight.
Protect your community by staying alert and reporting suspicious activity.
Additional tips include:
Parking in well-lit areas and staying aware when walking to and from your car
Don't leave firearms, electronics, bags or holiday
