OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Many of us are thankful this week but no one more so than North Omaha resident David Anderson.
“I honestly thought that I was about to die for just a quick moment there because of how fast the smoke filled up that one room,” said Anderson.
David lives here off Ellison Avenue with his sister and nephew. He was asleep when his sister woke him to a fire early Wednesday morning .
“In the time it took for me to try and get my dog and even just look got my shoes because I was not able to find them in time,” said Anderson. “That is when I looked again the other room and saw that the flames had moved from one room to the next.”
David uses a walker so mobility was limited. While his sister made it out safely, he was trapped in his room and tried his best to alert first re
