LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The man convicted of killing a Louisville father and his daughter is out of state custody.

Kevon Lawless is now in LMDC on a $1 million bond.

A jury found Kevon Lawless guilty of the August 2020 killing of Brandon Waddles and his three-year-old daughter, Trinity Randolph, at their home on Kahlert Avenue.

In October, the Kentucky Supreme Court overturned Lawless’ conviction after learning Lawless’ attorneys had asked for a mistrial after the jury learned from the media that one of the witnesses in the case had been arrested for perjury.

The Kentucky Supreme Court said in its decision that the trial court committed an error by denying Lawless’ motion for a mistrial.

A status hearing is already set in circuit court for December 19.
